Delft University of Technology is seeking candidates for a PhD position on the Numerical and Geophysical Modelling of Wave Propagation in Soils due to Rail Traffic. The candidate should have a strong background in numerical modelling and soil mechanics, and have a genuine interest and aptitude for the development, computer implementation and application of numerical and probabilistic-based algorithms. Teesside University is offering a fully funded PhD opportunity in the field of geotechnics, with the topic “Low carbon construction of earthworks considering suction and three-dimension effects and reuse of waste materials”. The research work involves analytical, numerical and statistical modelling. Therefore, applicant is expected to have good mathematical and programming skills.
