International Workshop on “Mechanics and transport properties of fractured/intact rocks”
The topic of mechanical, hydraulic and thermal properties of intact as well as fractured rocks has attracted renewed attention of many prominent researchers in geomechanics world-wide. This seems to be primarily due to environmental issues, shift of source of energy from hydro-carbons to nuclear and other forms of renewable energy. In view of the these activities, an International Workshop will be organized, the scope of which will include the numerical/analytical as well as experimental research related to the main theme (i.e. assessment of mechanical and transport properties of fractured/intact rocks), with applications in the above mentioned areas of geological disposal of nuclear waste, carbon dioxide sequestration, petroleum engineering, etc.
