Dear Colleagues,
we have just entered a European Project (https://tailwind-project.eu) related to station-keeping systems for floating wind energy. So, we will soon open scholarships to join the project’s multidisciplinary team.
Our main tasks in this project are related to a case study on the Portuguese Atlantic coast including: i) definition of hydrodynamic actions for the Atlantic coast (waves, currents, wind…); ii) selection of floater, mooring line and anchor system; iii) hydrodynamic modelling of mooring lines and anchor; iv) experimental cyclic characterization of foundations soils (cyclic triaxial testing); v) geotechnical and scour numerical modelling of seabeds.
The persons we are seeking can have either a Master’s or PhD degree in geotechnical engineering fields and will work mainly on Geotechnical numerical modelling of the anchor system and foundation soil. So, we would appreciate any experience in the numerical modelling of this type of structures.
The scholarships will have a duration of 12 months starting in June or September 2025 and can be eventually extended.
The work will be performed in the Civil Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP).
Any interested candidates should send their CV to sara.rios@fe.up.pt, as soon as possible.
